Shepherd University’s Scarborough Society hosted a fundraising gala at the Bavarian Inn on August 11. Witha theme of “2001: A Space Odyssey,” the event helped fund Shepherd’s library system.
Aug 18-19:
The 29th Annual Jefferson County African American Cultural and Heritage Festival was held on August 18th and 19th in downtown Charles Town. Friday night featured gospel music, while Saturday included a parade,youth and community activities, pony rides, vendors, food trucks, and a summer jam concert series.
Aug 26-27:
West Virginia’s Greatest Air Show2023 will take place on August 26thand 27th at the Eastern WV Regional Airport in Martinsburg. Celebrating the centennial of Shepherd Field, the show is “a spectacular event that showcases talented pilots and aircraft, all performing amazing feats of skill and daring.”
