Every year, top plaintiffs’ attorneys from across the region come together for the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association (VTLA) Annual Meeting. This year, it was held at The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, and three attorneys from our firm were there.
Andrew Skinner, Alix Hazel, and Elaine Singerman made the trip to take part in one of the most important events in Virginia trial law.
What Is the VTLA Annual Meeting?
The VTLA Annual Meeting brings together lawyers who represent everyday people, not big corporations. These are attorneys who fight for injured workers, accident victims, and families who need help.
The conference is all about learning and growing. Attorneys attend classes called continuing legal education (CLE) sessions. These classes keep lawyers up to date on the latest changes in the law. They also get to talk with other top trial lawyers about what is happening in the courtroom right now.
What Our Team Learned
The main focus of the weekend was on trial practice, which is the real, hands-on work of going to court for clients.
Our attorneys sat in on classes and had honest conversations with other lawyers about how the legal world is changing. They came back with:
- New strategies to help clients get the best results
- Fresh ideas about how to handle tough cases
- Up-to-date knowledge on changes in Virginia law and trial practice
This kind of learning doesn’t just sit on a shelf. Andrew, Alix, and Elaine are already using what they learned to help the people they work with every day.
More Than Just Classes
One of the best parts of the trip wasn’t in a classroom. It was the time our three attorneys spent together.
Away from the busy pace of the office, they had time to share meals, talk through big ideas, and connect in a real way. That kind of teamwork leads to better results for clients. When attorneys work closely together and think through problems as a team, you benefit.
Why This Matters to You
When you hire an attorney, you want someone who is always improving and staying sharp. You want a lawyer who cares enough to show up, do the work, and bring that knowledge home to you.
That’s exactly what Andrew Skinner, Alix Hazel, and Elaine Singerman did at the 2026 VTLA Annual Meeting.
At our firm, we believe that the more we learn, the better we can serve our clients. Whether you are dealing with a car or truck accident, a dog bite, or another legal challenge, you deserve an attorney who is at the top of their game.
