Skinner Family Lawyers: A Commitment to Community

The Skinner Law Firm and family have always been committed to giving back to the community. From sponsoring local events to supporting non-profit organizations, their dedication to making a positive impact on the community is evident. The Skinner legal team is proud to support the following events as the warmer weather begins to welcome us for spring and summer fun.

Shepherdstown Opera House Reopens

shepardstown-opera-house-reopeningThe Shepherdstown Opera House is a historic landmark that has been a cornerstone of West Virginia’s Eastern Panhandle for over a century. Built in 1910 as a performance space, it operated as a theater/cinema until 1957. In the early 90s, it was renovated and reopened as a movie theater. When it closed for renovations in 2018 after a pipe burst, many feared that it would never reopen. However, thanks to the hard work of dedicated individuals, the Opera House finally reopened this spring.

Stephen Skinner, a partner at the firm, attended the reopening ceremony and expressed his excitement about the Opera House’s return. He noted that “being able to see a movie right here in Jefferson County is a great thing, and of course, live performances are the best.”

The Shepherdstown Opera House and other arts venues are an important part of the local community and regional tourism. We are proud to celebrate the return to its former glory.

Another event that the Skinner family lawyers are proud to sponsor this summer is the Shepherdstown Street Fest. This annual event is a celebration of the town’s history and culture. Held this year on June 24th, the event features live music, artisans, vendors, a kids’ camp, and a beer garden. Last year, Shepherdstown Street Fest raised thousands of dollars for local non-profits. Skinner has been a sponsor of the event for several years and we are always impressed by the positive impact it has on the community.

Skinner Accident & Injury Lawyers are proud to be making a positive impact on the community sponsor through great community events such as these. Indeed, supporting the local community is an important role for all businesses.
