These festivals are cornerstone events for our local community, showcasing the rich heritage and vibrant culture of West Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley. WV Fest: June 15th in Charles Town, WV

WV Fest logo showcasing community sponsorships Skinner Accident & Injury Lawyers proudly returns as the presenting sponsor of WV Fest, marking their second consecutive year of support. Celebrated by residents and visitors, this event is a day brimming with diverse entertainment. Now in its seventh year, WV Fest offers something for attendees of all ages. The day is packed with activities ranging from toe-tapping live music performances and a Sports Zone showcasing local and state athletes to a Kids Zone with youth-friendly activities. In addition to all this fun, over 100 vendors will be on-site, showing off the exceptional skills of local artisans.

The festivities begin with the much-anticipated “Are You Smarter Than an Eighth Grader?” competition, a hallmark festival event. This engaging competition pits adult teams against some of West Virginia’s brightest eighth graders, Knights and Ladies of the Golden Horseshoe. The Golden Horseshoe Award, a longstanding tradition since 1931, tests West Virginia students’ knowledge of state history. Thousands of eighth graders annually vie for induction into the Golden Horseshoe Society, with over 200 earning this distinction yearly. The award and examination aim to foster a deep appreciation for the Mountain State’s heritage among its youth. Last year’s winning team in June 2023 included our founder John C. Skinner, Jr., whose squad bested both the 8th graders and Andrew’s team. John’s “O-Line” team will be back to defend their title this year.

WV Fest is more than just an event; it is a vibrant celebration of West Virginia’s community spirit and unity. Offering an enriching, entertainment-filled experience, it’s the perfect occasion to make memories with new and old friends. It’s always a reunion at WV Fest!

Shepherdstown StreetFest: June 29th in Shepherdstown, WV

Community Sponsorships proudly supports Shepherdstown Street Fest celebration Join us for another unforgettable day at Shepherdstown StreetFest on Saturday, June 29th – a favorite festival for locals and visitors since 2005. Enjoy the region’s rich history and traditions with musical performances, educational experiences, and cultural celebrations.

Gather for dancing in the streets to live music and explore the artisan showcases featuring talents of local craftsmen and women. The festival also gives back, with proceeds supporting regional and local non-profits like the Shepherdstown Community Club, Jefferson County school bands, Shepherdstown Shares, and the Eastern Panhandle Empowerment Center.

With a lineup of exciting live music, kids’ activities, and a welcoming atmosphere for all ages, Shepherdstown StreetFest celebrates community and creativity for a great cause.
