Shawn Hogbin

Attorney Shawn Hogbin is now part of Skinner Accident & Injury Lawyers, bringing a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to the firm. Born and raised in Hedgesville, West Virginia, Shawn earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Bachelor of Multidisciplinary Studies in Business Administration, Communication, and Philosophy from West Virginia University (WVU). He graduated at the top of his class from the WVU College of Law, where he distinguished himself academically, receiving 15 CALI awards, and served as President of the Student Bar Association.

During his time in law school, Shawn gained invaluable courtroom experience through WVU’s Supreme Court Clinic, where he had the opportunity to argue before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He also showcased his legal scholarship by publishing a notable article on gas-emitting landfills in the WVU Law Review.

Shawn’s journey with Skinner Accident & Injury Lawyers began during his law school summers, where he interned and later prepared for the bar. Following graduation, he served as a law clerk for the Honorable Irene C. Berger in the Southern District of West Virginia and the Honorable Robert B. King on the Fourth Circuit.

Recognized for his early accomplishments, Shawn was honored with the West Virginia Executive’s Lawyers & Leaders Award. He currently practices law in West Virginia, the Southern District of West Virginia, and the Fourth Circuit, with additional admissions pending in other jurisdictions.

Outside of his legal practice, Shawn is passionate about hiking, climbing, and caving, and he serves on the Board of Directors for the West Virginia Association for Cave Studies. He is also happily engaged to his fiancée and loves playing with their dog, Raina.
